What is Root Canal Treatment?
When the nerves and blood vessels within a tooth have been damaged or have perished, root canal therapy or endodontic therapy is the only method for saving the tooth. The injury could have been caused by rot, a fracture, or trauma. Abscess or infection may develop if the tooth is not treated, which can be agonising and debilitating.
Why did your physician refer you?
To provide you with the most accurate diagnosis and optimal treatment, and thus the best chance of retaining your tooth Root canal treatment (and notably re-treatment) can be a complex and demanding procedure. Your dentist has determined that it is in your best interest to have your endodontic treatment performed by an endodontist who possesses the necessary skills and apparatus.
What alternatives exist?
It may be preferable for you to have the tooth extracted and substituted with an implant or bridge. The decision is not always clear-cut and may hinge on clinical, financial, and emotional factors.
Is treatment unpleasant?
No, as local anaesthetic is employed. At each stage of the procedure, a local anaesthetic is administered to ensure your comfort. Following treatment, the tooth may be a little sore for a few days, but this is typically manageable with over-the-counter medication. You will be informed of the need for medication at the conclusion of the consultation. Please let us know if you have any treatment-related anxiety so that we can provide the optimal solution.

I don't normally leave reviews but wanted to say thanks so much to Dr Laura for her great work this weekend. I'm quite a nervous patient but she had me completely at ease for my treatment this morning. Also highly recommend for children - her and the nurses were fantastic with my son and his teddy Justin Beaver!
